A HIGH-LEVEL inter-American mission headed by OAS Assistant Secretary General Albert Ramdin visited Haiti September 3-6 to reinforce the hemisphere's cooperation and commitment to this Caribbean nation.

"This was an opportunity to see the positive side of Haiti, to show the accomplishments of the inter-American agencies, and to highlight stories that describe the cooperation between these agencies, individually and collectively," Ambassador Ramdin said.

The high-level mission was made up of the Permanent Representative of Guyana to the OAS and Vice President of the Permanent Council; the Director of the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO); the Executive Director of the Pan-American Development Foundation (PADF); the Manager of the Caribbean Countries Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); the Permanent Representatives and Alternate Representatives of Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, and Brazil; the Ambassadors of Canada and Argentina residing in Halti and Mexico; and the Assistant Director General of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).
