Columbia recognized by national community group.

Columbia is one of nine locations recognized by the National Community Development Association as a 2019 winner of the John A. Sasso National Community Development Week award.

The award recognizes community efforts to promote and celebrate the Community Development Block Grant program and the HOME Investment Partnerships program during National Community Development Week, held each Easter. The week provides an opportunity for grant recipients, beneficiaries, state and local partners, and communities to mark the programs' impact by showcasing projects and accomplishments.

The winners, recognized on June 21 at the 50th NCDA annual conference in Jacksonville, Fla., are:
