Columbia Museum of Art to show off new look during Arts & Draughts.

Midlands residents can get a look at the results of the Columbia Museum of Art's two-year renovations at the first Arts & Draughts since the facelift began when the museum plays host to its popular event on Jan. 18.

Event-goers can see transformed collection galleries and art projects in the museum's new open studios as well as get a sneak peek at Cross Hatch, an interactive space for visitors of all ages.

"Historically, Arts & Draughts has lived mostly on Boyd Plaza and in the museum lobby, but now we have all these new spaces to play in," Joelle Ryan-Cook, art museum deputy director and director of external affairs, said in a news release. "Enjoying a beer with your friends while making art in the studios, for instance, is pretty awesome, and we're excited to be able to offer these types of experiences to visitors in an even bigger way."
