Colorado still scores high for the health of its population, but as previous studies have shown, we're getting fatter just like the rest of the country.

Colorado is the 16th healthiest state, unchanged from a year ago, according to the America's Health Rankings 2007, released in November. The state ranked well in low prevalence of obesity, though since 1990 it has increased from 6.9 percent to 18.2 percent of the population.

The state has a low rate of cancer deaths and low rate of preventable hospitalization, the report said. Colorado also faired poorly in access to prenatal care and has a relatively high uninsured population, which has increased since 1990...
