Dish Network Corp. was Colorado's top public company for the second straight year in 2011, and the Englewood-based satellite TV provider isn't resting on its laurels. Charlie Ergen, the company's co-founder and chairman, announced at a conference on May 1 that Dish's 10-year plan is to become a one-stop-shop for Internet, video and voice services, in the home and on mobile devices.

Dish's revenues last year of $14 billion an 11 percent increase from 2010 led all publicly traded Colorado firms. The company also reported net income of $1.5 billion, a 54 percent jump from 2010.

Dish's many acquisitions in 2011 included the purchase or movie-rencal retailer Blockbuster our of bankruptey. Dish announced in April it plans to move Blockbuster's headquarters to Douglas County.
