Colorado's copy fees for open records are no longer the highest in the country. Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter recently signed a bill reducing the amount public entities can charge for copies of public records from $1.25 per page to 25 cents per page.

According to a report by The Coloradoan newspaper, the $1.25-per-page copy fee dated to 1968. before advances in copying made copies cheaper.
