Enterprise cloud services have reached a tipping point and organizations are ready to move an increasing number of mission-critical applications to cloud-based infrastructure. However, in order for this to happen, cloud service providers must deliver enterprise-grade availability and security, according to a new report.

A newly released study, 2013 Slate of the Enterprise Cloud, looks at motivations for cloud adoption by companies and government agencies and offers insights into the predominant operations that are being moved to an infrastructure-as-a-service model.

The report, by Verizon Enterprise Solutions, draws upon company data between January 2013 and June 2013 and examines cloud adoption and usage trends--both in terms of how organizations are deploying cloud technologies and what they want from enterprise cloud services.
