Clemson hosts Small Business Cybersecurity Summit.

Myrtle Beach-based PC Matic and Clemson University are helping brief small businesses from across the state on the best practices to defend their workplace from cyberattacks on May 12 at the virtual S.C. Small Business Cybersecurity Summit.

The free event will cover ransomware, spyware and backdoor entry defense among other topics.

Gov. Henry McMaster, Clemson University President Jim Clements, Nicole Periroth of The New York Times and Katie Arrington, the chief information security officer for acquisition at the U.S. Department of Defense, will speak at the event, among others, according to a news release.
