Clemson furloughs employees starting Sept. 1.

Clemson University will furlough employees in response to the financial impact of COVID-19 on the school.

The furlough period, beginning Sept. 1 and continuing until the end of the calendar year, follows a hiring freeze and other cost-reduction measures, according to a news release. The number of furlough days taken corresponds with the salaries of each employee. About half of the school's entire full-time workforce will be impacted.
