* The Space Force's Chief of Space Operations Gen. John "Jay" Raymond said the service is working on developing capabilities to remove space debris.

Russia conducted an anti-satellite missile test last year that generated more than 1,500 pieces of trackable orbital debris, according to Space Command.

The best way to manage the space debris challenge is to not create debris in the first place, Raymond said at a Wilson Center event.
