After reading Adolph L. Reed Jr.'s "The Real Divide" in the November issue, I wanted to shout "Hallelujah! Someone gets it!" I've been telling my liberal friends for years that the real oppression is not about race as much as it is about class, but to no avail. Reed not only presents this view with unarguable clarity, but he also points out how framing the situation as a racial issue actually reinforces the oppressive political and economic policies that push more and more of us onto the other side of the tracks.
