Yes, the world advances through the innovations of its creative community, those who make dreams tangible, who invent, excite, and provoke ("The New American Dream," by Richard Florida, March). But when creativity is crushed, wasted, or detoured, advancement can give way to sluggishness, as talent is wasted on the numbness of reality TV and overmedication.

American creativity needs to reemerge and Richard Florida's expertise and interpretations offer value and insight. Hopefully his article will get more people motivated. Bravo--write more.
