City to rededicate Walker Park.

The city of Greenville and the West Greenville Neighborhood Association will rededicate Walker Park on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 5:30 p.m. AARP recently awarded Greenville a $10,000 Community Challenge Grant to renovate the park. The grant was leveraged with $7,760 in in-kind labor from the parks and recreation and public works departments and another $3,500 in Community Development Block Grant funding from the Community Development Division.

The project scope included refurbishing the existing benches and horseshoe pit and adding new amenities, including a shelter, an ADA accessible horseshoe pit and ADA accessible game tables. An ADA accessible ramp was also installed at one of the entrances to the park, according to a news release.
