THIS YEAR will be my 16th season performing in the "Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes." I cannot help but look back and reflect on my journey and all the wonderful opportunities this dance company has brought me. I grew up dancing in the Washington, D.C., area and I trained at my mother's dance studio extensively in the tri-state area. After a childhood growth spurt, every dance teacher I met told me I was going to be a Rockette. After watching them perform at the Macy's Thanks-giving Day Parade, I knew that I wanted to be a Rockette.

I auditioned when I was 18 years old and still recall the day so clearly. I remember the exact leotard I wore, my sweaty palms, and the sense of excitement I was feeling. They believed in my dream every step of the way and I will be forever grateful. My mom and dad have seen me perform every year and it always is a thrill to see them in the audience as I dance onstage at Radio City Music Hall.

I have learned a lot since my rookie season. I never will forget the feeling I had walking into the first day of rehearsals--I was so scared of all the unknown... and in awe of the veteran Rockettes, who were so confident and beautiful. I quickly learned that I had nothing to be afraid of. Teamwork is paramount with this group and everyone was incredibly welcoming. Dancing alongside strong, empowered, confident women has helped me to discover those...
