According to U.S. officials, Chinese hackers have cracked the White Houses e-mail archives multiple times.

The Financial Times reported that the raids are suspected by U.S. government cyber experts to have been sponsored by the Chinese government. "We are getting very targeted Chinese attacks so it stretches credulity that these are not directed by government-related organizations," an unnamed source told the Times.

Each attack cracked the unclassified network's defenses for a short time, but the White House said the classified network remained secure.
