The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority offered 11,487 acres for lease near Chickaloon for coal exploration and development. Applications are due Dec. 16, and a successful applicant will be chosen Dec. 30. The Mental Health Trust Land Office, a division of the Department of Natural Resources, is managing the lease offering.
