Charles Shewbridge Becomes TEI's President.

On August 10, 1999, Charles W. Shewbridge, III of the Atlanta Chapter became the 51st President of Tax Executives Institute. Mr. Shewbridge, who is Chief Tax Executive for BellSouth Corporation, assumed his new position at the conclusion of TEI's Annual Meeting of Members. The meeting, which was held in Newport Beach, California, marked the end of the term of Lester D. Ezrati of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter, who is Vice President, Tax, Licensing and Customs for Hewlett-Packard Company.

Mr. Shewbridge just completed terms as TEI's Senior Vice President and Chair of the Continuing Education Committee. He has been a member of the Institute's Executive Committee for a number of years, and previously held a number of positions at the chapter and regional level. He also chaired the Institute's Continuing Education Task Force in 1996. He has been a member of the Institute since 1981.
