Charities to receive donations identified: first contributions to be made under TEI social responsibility plan.

Tax Executives Institute has identified the following three charities to receive donations of at least $2,500 for the 2008-2009 fiscal year:

* AccountAbility Minnesota

* Handful Players

* Sense of Security

The donations are being made as part of the Social Responsibility Initiative adopted last year by TEI's Board of Directors. The purpose of the initiative is to acknowledge and encourage volunteer efforts by Institute members and staff, as well as to commit additional funds to scholarships and charitable works. Board members were invited to suggest charities to receive the donations and the Institute's Advisory Committee to the President reviewed those suggestions and made recommendations to TEI's Executive Committee. Under the guidelines adopted by the Board, the Executive Committee has discretionary authority to donate a maximum amount of donations, determined by reference to TEI's investment income in the previous year.
