Asia Chapter hosts U.S. tax courses--basic and intermediate.

One of the goals of the TEI Asia Chapter is to provide our members with affordable tax education in the Asia-Pacific region. For the longest of time, in order to obtain U.S. tax education, companies had to sponsor their tax professionals to fly to the States for such development and training. This is generally a costly affair and hence limits the number of people that have access to such training and knowledge.

To address the situation and in recognition of the significant increase in business and investment activities by U.S. corporations in the region, TEI's Asia Chapter hosted its first ever U.S. Tax Education--Basic and Intermediate Courses, which were both held the week of March 26. Held in Singapore, the two courses was organized and led by Junie Schmidt (Microsoft) and Sharon Tan (Dell), and it involved distinguished U.S. tax advisers. The courses turned out to be a big success with an overwhelming response from tax executives across the region.
