The following chart provides a quick reference to the procedural requirements applicable to judicial review of the decisions of state officers and administrative agencies. Decisions are generally reviewed under the Administrative Review Act (ARA), A.R.S. §§ 12-901 to914. Some decisions are reviewed under special statutory procedures that are unique to a particular agency.

The information included in each of the chart’s columns is as follows:

Administrative Agency - This column lists alphabetically the state officer or administrative agency authorized to enter the administrative decision described in the second column from which an appeal may be sought. If a separate chapter discusses this agency’s procedures, it is identified in this column.

Administrative Decision - This column describes the various types of administrative decisions that are typically entered by a state officer or administrative agency identified in the first column. The decisions enumerated in this column mean “final administrative decisions” as that term is defined in A.R.S. § 41-1092(5).
