§80.5PURPOSE AND PROCEDURE

Although court reporters historically have been used to record trial court proceedings, many superior courts have switched all or some of their courtrooms to electronic recording, as authorized by CR 80(b). In those counties, the rule requires approval of the electronic recording equipment and the procedures for their use by the Administrative Office of the Courts. (Although the title to subsection (c) refers to "videotape," the text of the provision makes it clear that it refers to all types of video recording equipment.)
