§80.1 INTRODUCTION

Superior Courts are courts of record by statute and state constitution. As such, they must keep records of proceedings. Although courtroom clerks under RCW 2.32.050(2) are responsible for providing a shorthand report of the proceedings (i.e., the gist of any rulings, etc.), these "Clerk's Minutes" may not satisfy the requirements for appellate review, particularly when live testimony is taken.
