§66.3HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
Receivership has its origins in the Chancery Courts of England. Ray Graves, Washington Receivership, 37 Wash. L. Rev. 573 (1962). The common law of receivership developed as courts exercised their inherent powers to fashion equitable remedies. The availability of receiverships has been codified in Washington since the enactment of Washington's earliest statutes.
