§62.4COMPARISON WITH FEDERAL RULE

CR 62(a), which provides for an automatic stay, is comparable to its federal counterpart in Fed. R. Civ. P. 62. Both rules provide for a brief automatic stay of enforcement proceedings immediately after entry of judgment. However, under Fed. R. Civ. P. 62(a), the period of the automatic stay is 14 days, whereas under CR 62(a), it is 10 days.

CR 62(b), which permits stay pending postjudgment motions, is substantively the same as Fed. R. Civ. P. 62(b). Likewise, CR 62(h), which provides for stay of a partial judgment under CR 54(b) pending outcome of the remainder of the action, is equivalent to...
