§ 6.16 • FINRA ARBITRATION

Pursuant to § 19(b)(1) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, 15 U.S.C. § 78s(b)(1), and Rule 19 b-4 (17 C.F.R. § 240.19b-4), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (FINRA) was created to provide self-regulation of the U.S. securities market. FINRA has adopted provisions for the arbitration of certain disputes within the securities industry, including the Code of Arbitration Procedure for Industry Disputes. Thus, FINRA administers securities arbitration of disputes between broker-dealers and their employees or customers. General information about FINRA can be found at www.finra.org.
