§53.1.1 INTRODUCTION
CR 53.1 allows for agreement by the parties to have a civil case decided by an impartial referee, or for the court to order such a decision based on the consent of only one party. The text of CR 53.1 is reserved, and incorporates by reference RCW 2.24.060 and RCW 4.48.010-.100. This chapter will analyze these and related statutory provisions regarding the appointment and powers of a referee and the procedures related to the use of referees.
