§52.1 INTRODUCTION

CR 52 sets forth the requirements controlling findings of fact and conclusions of law. Findings of fact and conclusions of law are required in all actions tried without a jury or with an advisory jury, specifically including actions for temporary injunctions, adoption, custody, or divorce. There are exceptions, however, when findings and conclusions are unnecessary. This chapter discusses these principles and summarizes the case law interpreting the rule.
