ABOUT THE EDITORS

Hall Baetz has been a trial lawyer since 1967. He has tried over 100 cases in state and federal courts, from Florida to Washington. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1964 with a B.A. in English and from the University of Washington Law School in 1967, where he was managing editor of the Washington Law Review. He was a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Division, from 1967 to 1969. He practiced at Davis Wright Tremaine from 1969 to 2009, and at Baetz/Lamka/Clark from 2009 to 2014.

Joshua Choate is an assistant attorney general for the state of Washington. He has worked in this position since 2006 and received his office's Excellence Award in 2010. He currently specializes in the prosecution of environmental crime and defense of claims made pursuant to the Wrongful Conviction Compensation Act. He has also defended lawsuits against the state alleging personal injury, employment discrimination, and civil rights violations.

Allison Croft is an assistant attorney general for the state of Washington. She currently works in the Torts Division of the Attorney General's Office. Ms. Croft's practice focuses on representing the Department of Social and Health Services in lawsuits primarily related to claims of negligent investigation of allegations of child abuse and neglect. Ms. Croft received her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and her B.A. from Pepperdine University.

Michael E. de Grasse was admitted to the Washington bar in 1974. He has been engaged in the private practice of law since that time. He mainly advocates the rights and interests of individuals and small firms in civil and criminal trials and appeals. He has been a sole practitioner in Walla Walla since 1982. His work also includes serving as a neutral arbitrator in labor disputes and mediating a variety of cases. He has held all officer positions on the Executive Committee of the Litigation Section of the Washington State Bar Association. More recently, he held an appointment as lecturer of English at Whitman College.

Richard A. Fraser, III, is an assistant attorney general for the state of Washington. He practices in the Torts Division, focusing on the defense of maritime and highway litigation brought against state agencies. Prior to moving to Seattle in 2006, Mr. Fraser was engaged in the private practice of law in New Orleans for 28 years, primarily in the areas of maritime and insurance defense. He is a graduate of Tulane University (B.B. 1972) and Tulane University School of Law (J.D. 1978), and is a U.S. Navy veteran (1972-1975). He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Litigation Section of the Washington State Bar Association.

David R. Goodnight is a trial partner at Stoel Rives, LLP.
