§43.3HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT

Washington adopted CR 43 in 1967; the federal rule was used as a model. Washington amended the rule in 1977, 1979, 1988, 2002, 2006 and 2010. Until 2002, the amendments were minor. In 2002, CR 43(k) was added to address juror questions for witnesses. In 2006, amendments clarified CR 43(f). Finally, CR 43(a)(1) was amended in 2010 to make it consistent with the corresponding federal rule.
