Andres Meglioli is a Partner with the environmental consultant firm Environmental Resources Management (ERM) and is based in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Dr. Meglioli earned his Ph.D. Geology from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania in 1992, and B.S Geology from San Juan State University in 1985. He received his MBA Global Management from the University of Phoenix in 2003. He is a Certified Professional Geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists, is a Registered Geologist in Arizona, and a member of the Geological Society of America. Dr. Meglioli has over 20 years of experience in the environmental consulting, mining, and environmental insurance industries working with mining, industrial, financial, and government clients. In the mining industry, he worked as an exploration geologist and as an environmental manager. In his current position he is the mining sector leader for North America and concentrates in the development of closure and post-closure plans for active and non-active mines with special emphasis on sustainable closure, environmental and social impact assessments for new and ongoing operations, financial assurance, cost estimates, compliance and permitting issues, remediation, and EHS audits for mining, financial, and insurance clients. Prior to joining ERM, Dr Meglioli served as a consultant for American International Group with responsibilities for technical assessments; reclamation and closure cost estimates, statistical analyses, and risk assessments of hundreds of metallic and non-metallic mining operations globally. He has developed the closure guidelines for mining corporations and recently developed the closure plan for one of the world's largest coal mines.
