§ 3.4 COMMENCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS

§ 3.4.1—How Commenced

A dissolution of marriage action is commenced by filing a petition and summons, together with a filing fee, or by service of a summons and the petition. If service of the summons and petition occurs prior to the filing, the petition and filing fee must be filed within 14 days following the service, with some exceptions. C.R.C.P. 3(a).
