§23.2.5PURPOSE AND PROCEDURE

CR 23.2 provides a procedure for suits by or against the members of an unincorporated association as a class in cases in which, for formal reasons, the association itself cannot be a party. Although actions against unincorporated associations have often been viewed as traditional class actions, the true purpose and function of CR 23.2 is to provide jural entity status rather than to provide a procedural vehicle for litigating issues common to numerous parties.
