19-5 Additional Pleading Requirements for Equitable Remedies

"Fair notice" of a request for equitable relief necessarily requires more specific pleadings since equity exists as the exceptional alternative only when there is no adequate remedy at law. At a minimum, a pleading seeking an equitable remedy must specifically allege grounds for the equitable remedy and must specifically pray for the requested equitable relief, in addition to alleging no adequate remedy at law.46
