§ 19.1 • INTRODUCTION

The intent of this chapter is to introduce nonprofit employers in Colorado to the broad spectrum of federal, state, and local workplace laws, regulations, and principles governing the employer-employee relationship. Employment law is a complex and evolving area, and the outcome of any given situation will depend on a fact-specific analysis of the circumstances involved. For these reasons, this chapter provides only a high-level description of the primary rules that employers must consider.
