§16.3HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
The Supreme Court of Washington adopted the pretrial provisions of CR 16 on May 5, 1967, and made them effective July 1, 1967. Since its adoption as part of the original Civil Rules for Superior Court, CR 16 has not been substantively amended.
The procedures of CR 16 are in current usage in some form by most courts in the country; many states have adopted rules similar to the federal rule, which governs pretrial procedures in federal civil cases. 62 Am. Jur. 2dPretrial Conference §7 (1972).
