§12.11 CONTRACTOR
The real estate excise tax does not apply to a transfer of property to or from a contractor with an agreement to reconvey the property after construction of improvements on the land if (i) the land is deeded for the sole purpose of enabling the contractor to obtain financing for the construction of the improvement on the property conveyed and (ii) the agreement to reconvey is contained in a written statement made before the original conveyance.
