§12.1INTRODUCTION

This chapter will discuss the requirements for preserving and presenting defenses and objections by a defending party. Although a defending party may raise any defense in its answer, CR 12 allows a number of defenses to be raised by a motion to dismiss. There are consequences if a defending party fails to raise certain defenses either in its responding pleading or by motion. This chapter will discuss those consequences.
