EMIL RUPPERT is a partner with Rubio Leguia Normand, one of the largest law firms in Peru, with a well-established practice in natural resources, corporate law and taxation. He heads his Firm's mining and corporate law practice groups and specialize in mining law and mergers & acquisitions. He is currently counsel for many international companies doing business in South America. In the last months he has advised in the sale of the largest operator of regional airports in Peru, the acquisition of the Antilla cooper project by the Peruvian company Chancadora Centauro S.A. and the acquisition of a controlling interest in 6,000 hectares of mining rights in the Yanacocha area in Northern Peru. He graduated summa cum laude in 1988 from the Universidad Católica del Perú Law School and in 1989 was granted a Fulbright scholarship for his Master of Laws studies at the University of Houston Law Center.
