It just continues to grow. The 2007 supplement to Missouri Environmental Law updates the second edition and its 2002 supplement and provides continued support in many areas of environmental law for Missouri’s environmental practitioners in the legal and nonlegal fields. The United States Supreme Court has in the past year considered an unprecedented number of environmental cases at a single session, further changing the views expressed in the 2002 supplement.

In 2007, the pace is increasing with regard to environmental issues and their impact and increased emphasis as a direct result of the debate over global warming, and the many proposals of legislatures and Congress will continue to keep the field very dynamic. Changes in water law and air law—areas that practitioners believed were stable—are now being re-reviewed and re-examined in light of changing international influences.

With all the changes in this area of law and the increasing momentum toward change, the Environmental and Energy Law Committee of the Missouri Bar continues to be grateful for the dedication of its many members and their ongoing willingness to upgrade and supplement their areas of expertise.
