§ 2.1 INTRODUCTION

The Oregon Constitution contains seven sections relating to religious liberty. Six of them are found in Article I. Sections 2 and 3 of that article are "free exercise" clauses (see § 2.2 to § 2.2-4(c)), section 4 is a prohibition on religious tests for office (see § 2.3), section 5 prohibits governmental financial support of religious institutions (see § 2.4 to § 2.4-4), section 6 relates to religious qualifications for witnesses and jurors (see § 2.5 to § 2.5-2), and section 7 relates to conscientious scruples in making an oath or affirmation (see § 2.6).
