A USC study published June 15 in Social Psychological and Personality Science found that compared to liberals, conservatives have a greater sense of purpose and feel more strongly that their lives have meaning.

Thousands of participants from sixteen countries were asked their political leanings and other questions to assess wellbeing. Even after accounting for religious belief, the association between conservatism and life satisfaction was strong.
