As part of a statewide effort to improve the quality of life for Rhode Island citizens through environmental protection, CLF is challenging the expansion of Champlin's Marina, a private, fee-based enterprise, in the Great Salt Pond on Block Island. The Pond is one of Rhode Island's natural treasures. Both water quality and the public's access to the waterfront are threatened by plans that include doubling the marina's capacity from 14.0 boats to a minimum of 280.
