A century of modern sculpture.

Masterpieces of 19th- and 20th-century sculpture drawn from one of the world's finest private collections are on view at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York. the exhibition contains approximately 105 sculptures and examines developments of the last 125 years of the medium.

Included are works by Constantin Brancusi, Raymond Duchamp-Villon, Alberto Giacometti, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Auguste Rodin, Medardo Rosso, and David Smith. Remarkable not only for the uniformly high level of quality, but for the depth of its representation of key artists, the Nasher Collection covers a broad span, ranging from the pioneering work of Paul Gauguin, Rodin, and Rosso in the late 19th century to contemporary works by Magdalena Abakanowicz, Tony Cragg, Claes Oldenburg, and Richard Serra. Many of the most important art movements of the past century -- including Cubism, Constructivism, Futurism, Surealism, Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism -- are represented.
