The Barristers and Women Lawyers sections of the San Joaquin County Bar Association teamed up to offer a newly created mentorship program. The program pairs attorneys with seven or more years of experience with those who have been in the profession for five years or less. The purpose of the program is to elevate the competence, professionalism, and success of the San Joaquin County Bar through positive mentoring relationships.
Orange County creates health care law section
The Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) officially launched its newest section for health care law. The section will provide networking and education for health care attorneys including presentations on hot topics such as the Stark Law, false claims, HIPAA, HITECH, EMTALA, medical malpractice, antitrust, anti-kickback, compliance, health care reform, Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care and more.
