It took a little convincing to get CBA Continuing Legal Education (CBA-CLE) Executive Director Gary Abrams to come to Colorado from his beloved Madison, Wisconsin, where he worked for the State Bar of Wisconsin. Fast forward 20 years and he can’t imagine living anywhere else. He fell hard for Colorado, not just for the amazing skiing, but also for the organization he worked for.

Gary loves CBA-CLE. Among his many talents, Gary’s knack for balancing quality programming with plenty of networking time has made CLE seminars and conferences both educational and fun. During mountain conferences, attendees might spend the day immersed in legal sessions and the evening relaxing with colleagues at a wine tasting, often with Gary on hand to share his knowledge of the wines.

In January 2017, Gary will retire from the organization he loves, to spend time doing other things he loves: skiing, sailing, golfing, biking—any outdoor activity, really. He’ll share his retirement with his wife, Nena, a fellow Wisconsinite and “cheesehead.” The couple will most likely split time between Colorado and Wisconsin, enjoying both mountains and lakes.
