Cason Development Group working to develop commerce park.

Cason Development Group has partnered with a Columbia commercial real estate broker in its first venture into a multitenant commerce park, working with Ben Brantley, a vice president with CBRE, to accelerate the growth of Shop Grove Commerce Park.

The partners have been in recent conversations with two national retailers about distribution operations for the 38-acre commerce park, located off Shop Road Extension, according to a news release. Current park tenants include TireHub, South Carolina Air Distributor, Party Reflections, Carrier Enterprise and FedEx Ground.

"We are excited about this opportunity to expand our presence in the commercial real estate market in Columbia," Frank Cason, president of Cason Development Group, said in the release. "Although we have done other projects in the light industrial arena, this will give us a longer-term presence as we build out Shop Grove Commerce Park."

CBRE is the broker for the property and any buildings.
