Carrs Safeway employees and customers raised more than $300,000 for Providence Health & Services Alaska and the Cancer Center. The funds were raised during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The donation was presented in April at the Cancer Center. During April Providence Imaging Center offered free breast cancer screenings age 40 and older, who also demonstrated financial need.
