Carnegie Hall announced that pianist Martha Argerich has withdrawn from her duo-recital with violinist Itzhak Perlman on March 22. Argerich--who was scheduled to perform at Carnegie Hall as part of a six-concert U.S. tour--has withdrawn from all upcoming U.S. tour engagements this spring due to family and health problems.

On this same date, Perlman now will offer a completely new program, featuring longtime collaborators violinist and violist Pinchas Zukerman and pianist Rohan De Silva in a recital of music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, HenrykWieniawski, Bela Bartok, and Mortitz Moszkowski.

A reigning virtuoso of the violin, Perlman enjoys superstar status rarely afforded a classical musician. Having performed with every major orchestra and leading concert hall around the globe, he is treasured by audiences throughout the world who respond not only to his remarkable artistry, but to his irrepressible joy for making music.
