Careers with the click of a button: CalCPA partners with CollegeFrog.

While on-campus recruitment events are going strong, accounting graduates now expect to learn about a firm with the click of a button often determining which firms they'll strive to make the best impression with long before setting foot into a crowded campus ballroom.

"Candidates want to be able to find firms and learn about them online. If they grew up in Orange County, but went to school in Northern California, they want to know, the firms they should pursue in their hometown," says James Hosman, co-founder of CollegeFrog, a new online recruitment platform. By utilizing technology like CollegeFrog, Firms can shift resources from traveling to colleges across the state to engaging interested and qualified candidates with leadership conferences, internship programs and firm events over a longer period of time so that both the applicant and the firm have an opportunity to build a deeper connection.

"There is a tremendous opportunity to help students find their right fit in the accounting profession, while giving firms a way to reach students across the state without racking up costs for traveling," says Hosman.

CalCPA, in partnership with CallegeFrog, has created a virtual Meet the Firms event (calcpa.meetthefirmsweek.com) for California-based accounting firms, companies and students Sept. 16-20.

The event is free for students, recent graduates and firms. Students resumes will be delivered to all employers in the state who participate in the event, which will give students and recent graduates a chance to review all firm profiles on CollegeFrog and learn from career webinars that help them prepare for their professional lives.
