Can VP-Elect Kamala Harris Help Bend the index?

The U.S. ranks poorly in the global Female Opportunity Index compared to many of its developed counterparts due to maternity leave laws and lack of female heads of government. However, it seems things could be changing for America with the election of the first female vice president in Kamala Harris and the increased percentage of female Republicans in Congress.

The Female Opportunity Index study reveals data about political and corporate leadership, the gender wage gap, female legal support, maternity leave, access to education, and more, including data for 100 countries, including the U.S., and 12 American cities.
